Claire
Claire Elizabeth was born on April 27th, 2005. She is the daughter of Michael and Debbie, and the sister of Braeden and Sam. At six weeks old, Claire was diagnosed with a very rare form of anemia, called Diamond-Blackfan Anemia. Diamond-Blackfan patients cannot make their own red blood cells. Claire had very little blood in her system when her family brought her to the hospital for the first time. Now, her condition is stable and she is developing normally. Still, there are many questions about her future, and she needs a bone marrow transplant. Her parents say that "her mischievous smile and calm demeanor defy the idea that she is a 'sick' child. She is Claire: happy, growing, vibrant and-most of all-loved."
