Now I am experiencing life that is closer to a Soul parent or spouse as its
1:30 AM and I just arrived back at Virginia Mason hospital for a 4th visit
in 24 hours. My 85 year old dad has just been transferred to the heart unit
after being on the surgical rehab floor and the general floor. If they can
bring his heart rate to normal and raise his blood pressure he will be going
into surgery for an amputation later this afternoon. When I got the call at
12:30 I was so disoriented I thought it was 4 AM, realized my mistake as
Doug was asking why I had been called. So here I am after an hour and a
half sleep sitting with my dad who is really being a trooper about losing
his lower left extremity. He thankfully realizes that this much dreaded
procedure will save his life. When he was a little sorrowful about the
upcoming surgery I chatted with him about I reminded his about all the young
people that would gladly have an opportunity to extend their life and he
agreed and has been for optimistic ever since.
So now I may have to call my friends who have so graciously offered to help
get everything ready for the sale while I help attend to dad. As I typed
that sentence a loud beeping started on Dad’s machine, in his usual humorous
fashion he announced this is the big one, so I got a nurse who just moved
his arm so fluids could again flow into his IV and all is well.
I had wanted to blog today anyway as the photos for a teen who was
photographed by Christina have just been released. When we reviewed the
work to put it on the website her loveliness took my breath away.
Christina’s images so brilliantly capture her spirit that I hoped it would
remind all of our followers that its really important that we have a
successful Artist Sale this weekend so that we are fully funded to serve
families such as Abi’s. I think the work is so strong that all I need to do
is to remind you that the Sale is tomorrow and Sunday, December 3rd and 4th
at the Ballard Studio, 5201 11th Ave NW. In love and peace, Lynette
