Following My Heart While Leading Soul

Its about time that I learn that my heart will lead me to the places I need to go if I just settle down and listen.  In the last blog I stated that I would not be shooting as frequently for Soul as I used to, but yesterday an email arrived about an urgent shoot for a baby that needed to happen before evening.  I start out by emailing a number of Soul photographers but within minutes I knew I would just go myself.  It is where I am called and its the right thing to do as long as its not so often that I can’t find some quiet time in between.

The nurses, social worker and doctors were amazing.  The young family was supported in so many ways by Seattle Children’s.  An interpreter was present and so obviously caring and kind, a young chaplain came and graciously led the family thought the process.  My heart goes out to this couple and I send them all thoughts of love and peace.  The photos will be taken to Lily for post production in about an hour and then we will print and make the gifts that I hope will bring some comfort.

I have meetings for Soul today and tomorrow leading up to the board meeting next Tuesday.  We are poised to make 2012 one of growing support in every way.  We are interviewing one possible photographer this week and I put a request out to another to consider working with us.  Lew will be working on the volunteer list and we will be announcing the album party date hopefully tomorrow so you can put it on your calendar and shop for a paper that would be lovely for the cover.  The newsletter will start to take shape in the next months and we will work with Bettijean to complete a new and beautiful booklet to hopefully help gather corporate donors.  There are a number of radio talks that are in the works and the fundraiser in February honoring Charlotte’s life will spread the word further so that we are known and available to new families.  Charlotte and her family shown here today have been amazing supporters of Soul and are working in so many great ways to make the February event something special.

Time to ride that bike and head to a spend an hour with great friends, Patty and Patti.  In love and peace, Lynette
