Atlas R

Born on August 28, 2015, Atlas passed away 18 days later. He had been born eight weeks premature, with Beckwith-Wiedeman Syndrome and nephroblastomatosis in both kidneys. “He was extubated at one week old,” his mother says, “and almost pulled it out a few times himself.” His family and his doctors were astonished at his strength in fighting for his life. “Looking back, his doctors are surprised he made it for so long. He taught his family the true meaning of strength.”

Atlas will forever be remembered as an inspiring little fighter. “Atlas had a strong name, and it fit him perfectly. He was a bearer of heavy burdens and had admirable strength and courage. He was a gentle giant.”
