Axel
Axel, who was born on May 17, 2011, passed away on August 3, 2011. He suffered from a heart defect known as Heterodoxy Syndrome. He underwent his first surgery when he was only one month old, and his conditioned subsequently worsened. His mother remembers “his big beautiful eyes. He would stare at you as if he knew what you would be talking to him about. Since the very first time we made eye contact, I was captured by his big beautiful eyes. He was so small and gentle but yet so big of a person to me. I will never forget his eyes looking at me when I would breast-feed him. Such priceless moments.”
It is a relief to his parents now to think of him “in a better place with no pain.”
Axel’s parents would like to thank the Ronald McDonald House, and Aida, their social worker at Children’s Hospital, for unforgettable help and support.
