Emma C

Seven-year-old Emma is “unbelievably kind, highly intelligent, and wise beyond her years,” her mother says. “Her positive outlook on her current situation, and life in general, has helped her immensely during this battle. She continues to absolutely amaze us in every way.”

Emma was diagnosed in May 2011 with an inoperable brain stem tumor. She completed six weeks of radiation at the University of Washington Medical Center, and is now undergoing a year of chemotherapy. Her MRI’s are currently “stable,” and “she continues to get stronger with each passing day.”

Emma’s mother and father “thoroughly appreciate the support we have received from Seattle Children’s Hospital, Soulumination, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and our amazing family and friends.”

We received an update from her mother that their beloved Emma passed away on January 9, 2012.  “She fought her battle with such bravery and grace, we have learned so much from her.  The photos Susan took of our family will forever be cherished.  We’re taking it day by day and miss her like crazy but still feel her presence all around us.”
