in honor of Ethan

Born on November 15, 2011, with hyperthrophic cardiomyopathy and a host of related complications, little Ethan underwent a heart transplant five months later. But you’d never have known, to look at him, that his life was such a perilous adventure. “Soon after his heart transplant, while he was still on a ventilator, I came in to see him after being gone overnight,” his mother says. “He gave me the biggest, happiest smile. In spite of what he has been through, he is a happy, outgoing baby. He shows a strength that will help him for all of his life.”

Ethan’s family is particularly grateful to the Cardiac Transplant Program at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
