in honor of Harper

Harper was born to Corrin and Josh on February 4, 2010, and passed away eight months and 12 days later, from SIDS. “After the initial SIDS episode,” her parents recall, “they were able to get her breathing again, and she spent the next eight days in the ICU, on life support, while they ran tests. We eventually found out that she had severe brain damage, and made the decision to take her off life support.”

Harper’s parents remember her as being “so funny and smart. She was always smiling and doing silly things. She was a mover and shaker!” One episode in particular stands out to her mom, in the way it showed both Harper’s determination and her sense of humor. “She had a musical keyboard and the batteries ran out, and she was really frustrated. I looked over at her from across the room; she had flipped it over on its back and was propped up above it, shaking her fist at it. I laughed and said, ‘What are you doing?’ She just looked up at me and laughed.”
