in honor of Hayden

Hayden was born on September 24, 2002. He is the older brother of Charlotte. He suffers from neurofibromatosis 1, a genetic condition that causes tumors to grow on nerve tissue throughout the body. He has three brain tumors, a tumor on his spinal cord, scoliosis of the spine, and both gross- and fine-motor deficiencies, “but he still wants to do ‘jogging club’ and encourages other able-bodied children to carry on when they want to give in.”

His mother says that “Hayden has undergone more physical and psychological pain in his years than most of us will ever endure in our whole lives, yet he continues to smile and laugh.”

Hayden’s family thanks the Children’s Tumor Foundation for its work and research into neurofibromatosis.
