John was born on July 27, 1993, and passed away on March 3, 2009. He was born with mirror-image organs, and complex heart disease. He underwent two open-heart surgeries before he was nine months old. Having only one kidney, he also had Stage 1 kidney disease.
John loved his family passionately. His mother says, “His heart was a big as Texas, his favorite place to be. He loved his family passionately; family was important to him.” He also was very charismatic and cheerful: “Every time he walked into a room, he would light it up with his smile. He was full of unconditional love.”
John’s family would like to thank Seattle Children’s Hospital, which “blessed” them with John’s care. They also would like to thank Mission Foods, “for nine years of support,” and Lakes High School’s Life Skills Department.
