in honor of Joshua

Joshua was born on April 12, 2006, in the 27th week of his mother’s pregnancy. His mother, Stacey, says he is “a very sweet baby” who “amazes us ever day.” His grandfather calls him a “little giant,” because of how determined a fighter he is. For the first 90 days of his life, Joshua lived in the UW Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and at Group Health Hospital. “It was amazing,” says Stacey, “to see the miracle that took place there.”

Joshua began life with a breathing tube, and now has chronic lung disease and severe reflux. Until he is older, the long-term effects of his condition are unknown.

Joshua’s family would like to thank “the wonderful staff and nurses at UW NICU and the Capitol Hill Group Health.”
