Kenny C

Kenny, who was born on October 7, 2000, passed away on October 31, 2013, after a six-month fight against a rare form of colon cancer called Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma. “He was kind, compassionate, determined, and had tremendous faith in God,” his mother says. She will never forget how bravely he fought through chemotherapy, radiation treatment, excruciating pain, weakness, nausea, loss of vision, mobility, and ability to communicate. Nor will she ever forget walking the halls at Seattle Children’s with Kenny when he was 12, with five IV tubes hooked up to him, looking up at his mother and saying, “Mommy, it’s nobody’s fault that I have a cancer. God chose me. He knows I am strong enough to fight the cancer.”

As Kenny’s time on earth drew to a close, he said to his mother, “Mommy, I love you…I am dying…I am sorry, Mommy.” She writes to him in reply: “I miss you so much. I miss your voice, smile and laughter. I miss so many things we did together. I learned so much from you. Thank you for giving me a chance to be your mom even though it was short. Thank you for the wonderful memories. As I promised you, we will be reunited again soon in Heaven.”

Kenny’s family would like to thank the Seiei Judo Club for its support.
