in honor of Lydia

Lydia was born in August of 2007, and suffers from infant leukemia and hydrocephaly. Her parents are struck by the sense of peace and joyfulness that radiate from her; they describe her as very engaging, with a love of interacting with other people. “After she had brain surgery,” her mother recalls, “she opened her eyes to see who was transporting her, and she looked up at him and started to smile and giggle.” As of June 2011, her mother happily reported that Lydia is in remission and doing well.

Lydia’s parents would like to thank the Shades Valley Community Church (160 Oxymoor Road in Homewood, Alabama) for their help, especially for their Lydia Fund.
