Michael
Michael is 45 years old, and suffers from cirrhosis of the liver. He has been told two different times in the past that he was on the verge of death, but has miraculously survived. He has been the sole parent of two children, Leeon (age 26), and Thunder Rain (age 4). “Raising my children by myself most of their lives, having a second chance, watching and spending time with Thunder and my grandchildren, seeing the looks on my kids’ faces the first time they saw the ocean, taking my boys fishing and watching them catch their first fish themselves, 20 years apart from each other…these are particular fond memories I have.”
Michael would like to thank the Thurston County Food Bank and the University of Washington staff, particularly its transplant team, for so much help, support, and healing.
