Born on May 24, 2013, Burton suffered from irreversible brain damage and frequent seizures, and passed away when he was five months old. “I’ll never forget his sweet demeanor and dashing good looks,” his mother says.

One episode from Burton’s life is particularly memorable. “We were walking over the sand dunes at the beach with a fussy baby,” his mother remembers. “As soon as Burton heard the ocean pounding, he immediately calmed down and relaxed.” He found the outdoors to be strangely comforting. “Any time we camped, he slept for hours and hours.
