Jordynn, eight months old in these pictures, was born on July 14, 2011. “No matter what she is going through, she is always happy!” her mother says. “She also is very loving and responsive”—as was evidenced most profoundly when Jordynn, heavily medicated and on a breathing machine, heard her mother say her name. “She used every ounce of energy to turn her head and open her eyes and look at me,” her mother says.
