Georgia was born to Alison and Brian on November 19, 2009. She suffers from a rare form of cancer known as Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML), with an AML mass tumor. Throughout her arduous treatment, she has been a source of inspiration and entertainment to her doctors and loved ones. “She is as sweet as she is sassy,” her mother says. “On the hospital floor, she is known for her ‘parade wave’ and her wiggle dance—and for always letting her opinion be known.” At ten months old, during a care conference with her doctors, “she repeatedly interrupted them by blowing raspberries at them when they handed out her chemo schedule. She took my copy, crumpled it up and threw it on the floor—during a very stressful meeting she had everyone laughing.”
Georgia’s family would like to thank the JMML Foundation for funding much-needed research into this rare disease.
