Ahmie, the big sister of Aisha, was born on August 2, 2000. In December 2013, she was diagnosed with an aggressive soft-tissue sarcoma known as DSRCT. “She is a loving daughter with a fun sense of humor,” her mom says. “She enjoys math, art, Girl Scouts and One Direction. She plays viola and loves Disney World and baking.” Her parents and her doctor worried terribly about her reaction when they had to tell her that her uterus and ovaries had to be removed, but Ahmie replied with characteristic, selfless pluck: “That’s okay...I want to adopt, because so many kids need a mom and dad to love them.”
Ahmie’s parents would like to thank Seattle Children’s Hospital for its great care.
