Trevor and Paige had been trying to get pregnant for over a year, while also grieving the loss of Trevor’s father to an aggressive brain cancer, when suddenly their prayers were answered. What followed was a dramatically foreshortened pregnancy, culminating with the sudden onset of contractions at 25 weeks—the beginning of the family’s “wild roller-coaster ride.” Paige was helicoptered to Seattle from Wenatchee for the delivery at 26 weeks of a baby boy struggling with meningitis, dangerously high bilirubin, transfusions, necrotizing enterocolitis, failed Picc lines, brain bleeds, collapsing lungs, and bronchi-pulmonary dysplasia. “This boy is nothing short of a miracle, and even through such a rough road, God has provided us with so many blessings! God is so good,” Trevor’s mother says.
