Bryant Schliep was born on April 5, 2005, in St. Ignatius, Montana. He is the son of Dewey and Meredith Schliep. Originally given only a five percent chance of survival, Bryant has been through chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, and a life-threatening infection.
The Schliep family lives on an 80-acre ranch an hour north of Missoula, Montana. The town of St. Ignatius has shown tremendous love and support for Bryant from the time he was born. After extended hospital stays, the family would come home to find billboards posted in St. Ignatius, welcoming them home.
Bryant’s parents describe their son as “a very active and happy baby. He is just always happy. When he came down from ICU, his face was so swollen that his eyes were shut. Yet he was still smiling! He is so strong and good-willed; there are very few things or moments that bring him down.”
