Born on November 7, 2009, Maya suffers from cerebral palsy. She also is graced with an enchanting smile. “No matter how much pain she’s been through,” her mother says, “she’s still smiling and laughing through it all. She’s able to put a smile on anyone’s face.” One day, when Maya was hospitalized after suffering a stroke, her family feared they “would never see her smile again. She was heavily sedated, in a daze. But then she turned to her right and gave us a huge smile.”
Maya’s family would like to thank Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington Medical Research for their hard work and support.
