“Ship captain. Whale researcher. Writer. Tour guide. Office manager. Content creator. Volunteer. Advocate. Even monkey wrangler. I’ve been all of these things. But perhaps my favorite job so far has been photographer and storyteller. The only real antidote to the ravages of time, to failing memory, even to death itself are the stories and images we preserve and pass down. I’m grateful to have found a vocation which helps keep our memories alive. Photography is its most powerful when we use it as a tool. So I’m lucky to count Mary’s Place Homeless Shelter and now Soulumination here in Seattle, Amigos de Lucky Animal Rescue in the Dominican Republic, The Wish Ambulance in the Netherlands, and many others like them among my clients. As a photographer, I am committed to capturing the images and telling the stories whose impact can help those who need it most.”
